Abby Elliott is an American actress who followed the footsteps of her father Chris Elliott and grandfather Bob Elliott in the entertainment industry, particularly in the comedy genre. She started her career as a member of the New York chapter “Upright Citizen’s Brigade”, a cast of comedians founded by Saturday Night Live’s Amy Poehler. Elliott stood out from the troop and proved that comedy truly does run in her blood.

With her pursuit to shy away from her famous roots and be her own success, Abby Elliott took her chances in Los Angeles and collaborated with Mike Judge doing voice over on the animated TV series “King of the Hill.” Abby then joined the “Upright Citizen’s Brigade” in Los Angeles, where her name started to get noticed in the industry. She was then asked by big names of comedy talk shows, such as Jimmy Kimmel, David Letterman and Conan O’Brien to appear in their shows.

Abby Elliott has been writing, acting and appearing in her made-for-YouTube skits, where she impersonates Angelina Jolie and Kirsten Dunst. These videos, along with the audition tapes she has sent to Saturday Night Live creator Lorne Michaels, gave Elliott a slot on the long-running comedy show. Her performances convinced SNL producers that she can take the place of Amy Poehler, who just gave birth.

Abby Elliott is the third generation of Elliott to be featured in the show. Her father Chris Elliott, main character of the movie “Cabin Boy” was a member of the show’s 20th season and her grandfather Bob Elliott of the famous comedy duo “Bob and Ray” co-starred the 4th season of the show. When Abby joined the Saturday Night Live in 2008, she was the youngest female SNL member ever cast at the age of 21, and the second youngest cast member overall.
